Easy at-home Halloween costumes

It’s getting closer to Halloween, and costumes might not be the first thing on your mind this year! Take a look at some easy costumes you can make with items you likely already have at home!

Cher (Clueless)

Yellow plaid skirt, blazer, and a white shirt? Just add a couple “As Ifs” and you’ll be an excellent Cher.

Alex Owens (Flashdance)

This was a very easy last minute costume, Put a body suit over tights, add some leg warmers, throw on a slouchy grey off the shoulder sweater and you’re good to go! To add to it, curl your hair! A lot of people will ask if you carry around a bucket of water to pour on your head (in reference to the movie) but it’s a small price to pay for a cute costume

Flapper

I’m sure we all have some form of a 1920’s/flapper dress in our closet. Put your hair and grab yourself a long cigarette holder from a costume store and you’ll be transported back to Gatsby times.

Wednesday Addams

Anyone from the Addams family is a safe and easy bet, but especially Wednesday. Put on a black dress with a white collared shirt underneath, your hair in braids, and some pale face/dark eye make up!

Queen of hearts

For a super simple version of this, tape cut outs of hearts and queen of heart cards to a while shirt. Add it to a red skirt and toss on a tiara – queen of hearts here you come! (See in picture under Cheetah)

Cheetah

Toss on any cheetah print clothing you have, pick up a tale at a costume store and draw on some whiskers with your eyeliner – easy peasy!

Mime

A black and white striped shirt, some face paint, a pair of white gloves and voila! You’re done! Paint your face white with some red circles on your cheeks, and add red suspenders to really up your look. The best part? You don’t have to talk to anyone you don’t want to all night!

Garden gnome

A big oversized sweater, a chunky belt, some worker boots, and a piece of bristle board is all you need for this. Role the bristle up into a big cone and tape it so it becomes a big pointy hat. To help it stay on your head, whole punch each side with a hole and tie some string to make a chin strap.

Apologies for the bad quality – Second year university had some blurry night

Mia Wallace (pulp fiction)

Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction is so easy its silly, but you do need a wig. Black dress pants, a white button down, and a black bob with bangs and you’re her! It’s easy and comfy.
